Here is some suggestions for creating pictures for your child’s written story.

⦁ Draw pictures on paper next to the story words.

⦁ Use existing pictures in print and cut to a format and size you like with scissors.  Glue to the paper.

⦁ Use actual pictures taken on an iPhone and transfer to a laptop and print out or send digital pictures to a Walgreens or CVS type service to cheaply print the pictures. Glue the pictures to the paper story (cut pictures to desired sizes).

⦁ For a most advanced creation of real pictures into cartoon type pictures you can use ChatGPT for free (or another AI service).  Place these created cartoon pictures into your story. (AI should never be used to create any written words or ideas for a child's written story).

How can pictures in a story help children's development

-The combination of words and images creates a multi-sensory learning experience that can improve retention and comprehension.

-Seeing the progression of a story visually helps children learn about beginnings, middles, and ends, and understand cause-and-effect relationships.
